Tamales - taste sensation wrapped in a corn leaf
Tamales aren't widely known here, we believe this MUST change. The ingredients, the use and the packaging - everything calls for Tamales. And the most important, a good and fresh tamal tased heavenly!
The 3 elements of a tamal: the corn dough, the filling and the packaging.
The dough is made of corn flour, so it is free of wheat and easy to digest. In terms of taste, it is just as important as the filling. This, in turn, can be as varied as the imagination can reach. Traditional tamales are filled with meat or vegetables, usually enriched with a light chili sauce to give the final product the perfect consistency.
The tamal is wrapped in a corn or banana leaf, tied together and steamed. No fat is used, so the "Mexican dumplings" remain light and nutritious.
Of course tamales are also available in sweet variants - usually with fruits and nuts and their rich taste can hardly be beaten.
A Tamal is suitable as a snack or you can treat yourself to 2 or 3 different Tamales as a complete menu.
